Korpa is a container used for carrying, storing, or presenting items, traditionally made by weaving flexible materials such as wicker, rattan, cane, straw, or reeds. In many South Slavic languages, including Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, and Slovenian, the word korpa denotes a basket. Modern korpe may also be produced from plastic, metal, or fabric, expanding their applications while preserving the basic basket form.

Traditional korpe come in a variety of shapes and sizes, commonly round or oval with a handle or two. They are used for tasks such as gathering fruit or vegetables, transporting goods at markets, carrying laundry, or storing household items. Special forms include creels for fishing, fruit baskets, and decorative or gift baskets. In some cultures, korpe play a role in rituals and celebrations, such as Easter baskets or harvest troves, where baskets are filled with foods or symbolic items.

Materials and craftsmanship have historically varied by region, with basket weaving often taught as a cottage industry. In contemporary settings, korpe continue to be valued for their durability, adaptability, and aesthetic appeal, while sustainable design has increased interest in traditional, natural-material korpe alongside modern, reusable options.

Care and maintenance depend on materials: wicker or reed korpe should be kept dry and stored away from direct sun to prevent drying and cracking, while plastic or metal versions may require simple cleaning with mild soap and water.
