Konsorsiyumu is a temporary alliance of two or more independent entities formed to undertake a specific project or pursue a common objective. Members retain their own legal identities, while governance, resources, risk sharing, and revenue distribution are defined in a konsorsiyum sözleşmesi (consortium agreement). These arrangements are common in sectors that require a combination of capital, expertise, and scope beyond what a single party can provide, such as construction, infrastructure, energy, transportation, and large-scale research programs.

Typically, the consortium operates under a lead partner or project manager who coordinates activities and interfaces with the project owner or client. In many cases the consortium does not create a separate legal entity; instead, the members collaborate under contractual arrangements. The konsorsiyum sözleşmesi specifies roles, work packages, scheduling, budgeting, liability, confidentiality, dispute resolution, and termination conditions. Financing may come from member contributions, guarantees, loans, or public funding, and procurement rules often allow or require consortia to bid as a group.

Advantages of forming a konsorsiyumu include shared risk and cost, access to complementary capabilities and technologies, greater bidding power for large projects, and the ability to assemble diverse resources quickly. Challenges include coordinating activities across multiple organizations, aligning objectives and schedules, managing liability and indemnities, and resolving conflicts of interest. Regulatory and antitrust considerations are also important, especially in public procurement and in industries with competitive markets. Dissolution typically follows project completion or termination of the contract, though some consortia evolve into permanent collaborations or joint ventures if repeatedly engaged in related work.
