Jännitepiiri is a Finnish term that translates to “voltage circuit” in English. It refers to an electrical circuit that is used to control, regulate, or provide an electrical potential difference (voltage) to other components of an electronic system. In such a circuit, a voltage source—such as a battery, power supply unit or another DC or AC source—is connected in series with a load, and the voltage drop across the load determines the operating point of the circuit.

The design of a jännitepiiri often incorporates series or parallel arrangements of resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes and integrated circuits that form voltage dividers, biasing networks or regulator stages.
