Fewts are a small, furry mammal found in the temperate forests of the continent of Eldoria. They are herbivores, primarily feeding on roots, berries, and fungi. Fewts are known for their distinctive, bushy tails which they use for balance when navigating trees and for signaling to other fewts. They are social animals, living in small family groups called "clutches" that typically consist of a mated pair and their offspring from the past one or two seasons.

The physical appearance of a fewt is characterized by its soft, brown fur, large, dark eyes, and small, rounded ears. They have sharp claws on their paws, which are adept at digging for food and climbing. The average adult fewt measures about fifteen centimeters from head to tail, with the tail adding another ten centimeters. Their lifespan in the wild is estimated to be around five to seven years.

Fewts are most active during dawn and dusk, spending the rest of their time in burrows they dig or in hollow trees. Their burrows are often lined with moss and leaves for insulation and comfort. Predators of fewts include owls, foxes, and larger forest-dwelling creatures. Their primary defense mechanisms are their agility, speed, and ability to camouflage within their forest environment. Reproduction typically occurs in the spring, with females giving birth to litters of three to five young, known as "kits." Kits are born blind and helpless, relying entirely on their mother for the first few weeks of their lives.
