Dëshmitarët is Albanian for "the witnesses" and commonly refers to Jehovah's Witnesses, a Christian restorationist denomination known for door-to-door evangelism and strict adherence to the Bible. In Albanian contexts, the name is often shortened to refer to this group, whose members are organized under a global religious framework.

The movement originated in the United States in the late 19th century among the Bible Student movement led by Charles Taze Russell. The group adopted the name Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931 to distinguish itself theologically and organizationally. Internationally, it is governed by a central body, commonly known as the Governing Body, with local congregations coordinated by circuit and district overseers. Worship and study are conducted in Kingdom Halls, and members participate in regular ministry and literature distribution.

Beliefs and practices are distinctive. Jehovah's Witnesses are nontrinitarian, teaching that Jehovah is the sole God and that Jesus is his son, not equal to God. Publications such as The Watchtower and Awake! circulate globally, and Jehovah's Witnesses publish and translate material through the electronic and print network at jw.org. They also engage in charitable activities and disaster relief as part of their ministry.
