dAgordo

D'Agordo is a comune in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, located in the province of Belluno. It is situated in the Dolomites, within the Agordino area, and serves as the main town of its valley. The municipality includes the town of d'Agordo and several rural hamlets and scattered settlements set against a backdrop of alpine peaks and forests.

Historically, the area formed part of the wider Belluno region and saw influence from the Republic of Venice and later the Habsburg Empire before becoming part of the Kingdom of Italy. The Dolomites front of World War I touched the area, and traces of alpine fortifications can be found in the surrounding mountains.
