In computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) workflows, the term cam platen is less standard, and “cam” more often refers to software processes or generic workholding fixtures. When encountered, camplaten typically denotes a fixture plate or workholding surface associated with a cam-driven portion of a machine, rather than a widely recognized component.
