BoundaryElementModeller is a software library for constructing and solving boundary element models in the boundary element method (BEM). It provides tools to describe geometries, discretize surfaces into boundary elements, assign material properties and boundary conditions, and assemble the boundary integral equations that govern the problem. The library supports common Green’s-function formulations for acoustics, electromagnetism, electrostatics, and elastostatics, and handles both 2D and 3D geometries.

Discretization and solvers: The package supports constant and higher-order elements, automatic mesh refinement, singularity treatment, and assembly of dense or compressed matrices. It offers direct and iterative solvers with optional preconditioners and interfaces to external solvers. Post-processing tools evaluate potentials, fluxes, and fields on surfaces or in the domain.

Performance depends on problem size and implementation; dense matrices can be memory intensive, though fast methods and parallelization help.
