bodyElement commonly refers to the HTML body element of a document, the root container for content rendered in the browser. In the DOM, it is exposed as document.body and as a reference to the body element.

Usage: It serves as the main container for visible content. It can be selected with document.querySelector('body') or getElementsByTagName('body')[0].

Semantics and structure: The body contains the document's content, and should be populated with semantic sections and content. Head metadata belongs in the head element; the body should be the primary content area. HTML5 defines structural elements such as header, main, section, article, nav, aside, and footer that may be used inside the body.

Styling and scripting: The body can be styled with CSS and participates in layout; margins, fonts, background settings often apply to the whole page. JavaScript can read or modify the body, for example bodyElement.style, bodyElement.className, or document.body. Events can be attached on the body, such as click, input, and keydown, though many events bubble from child elements.
