Avionicssystemer is the Swedish term for avionics systems, the electronic systems on aircraft that support navigation, flight management, control, communications, and safety monitoring. These systems integrate sensors, actuators, displays, and data networks to provide information to pilots and to enable automated flight functions.

Core components and functions include the flight management system (FMS), which handles navigation databases, route optimization, and performance calculations; autopilot and flight director systems that manage guidance and automatic flight control; and cockpit displays such as primary flight displays (PFD), navigation displays (ND), and multi-function displays (MFD). Communication systems, including VHF/UHF radios and satellite links, enable voice and data exchange with air traffic control and other aircraft. Navigation systems combine GNSS with traditional aids like VOR/ILS, DME, and inertial reference units. Surveillance and safety features encompass traffic collision avoidance systems (TCAS), mode S transponders, terrain awareness and warning systems (TAWS), and weather radar. Data recording and health monitoring are supported by cockpit voice recorders (CVR), flight data recorders (FDR), and onboard diagnostics.

Architecture ranges from centralized to distributed designs and increasingly employs integrated modular avionics (IMA) and networked data buses. Redundancy and fault tolerance are central to safety, with multiple independent power buses and duplicate critical components in many aircraft. Certification and safety standards govern avionics development and operation; software follows guidelines such as DO-178C, hardware follows DO-254, and environmental testing adheres to DO-160. Networking standards include ARINC specifications (e.g., 429, 629) and increasingly Ethernet-based avionics networks (AFDX). The field continually evolves toward glass cockpits, software-driven systems, and advanced data link and situational awareness capabilities.
