Aplikove is a term used in textile arts to denote decorative patches or motifs created by applying cut pieces of fabric onto a base textile, typically sewn around their edges. In English, the technique is commonly called applique or appliqué. In some South Slavic languages, the plural form aplikove describes the patches themselves.

The process involves selecting fabrics of contrasting colors or textures, cutting shapes, and arranging them on a ground fabric. The shapes are secured by running stitches, satin stitches, or blanket stitches, and the edges may be left raw or finished with a tight zigzag. Fusible interlining or adhesive stabilizers can be used to stabilize the pieces before stitching. Motifs range from geometric and floral designs to symbols, figures, and narrative scenes.

Materials typically include base fabrics such as cotton, linen, or wool, with patches made from wool, silk, felt, or cotton. Threads can be cotton, polyester, or silk, and stitching options vary from hand-stitched to machine-stitched methods. Aplikove can be layered to create dimension and texture, and may incorporate additional embroidery for detail.

Applications extend across clothing, ceremonial garments, quilts, table linens, and upholstered items. In traditional costumes, aplikove often carry regional identifiers, status marks, or symbolic meanings, while in contemporary craft they appear in fashion, wall hangings, and home decor.
