acordei

Acordei is the first-person singular form of the Portuguese verb acordar in the pretérito perfeito (simple past). It is used to indicate that the speaker woke up at a specific time in the past and is common in narrative or reporting past events.

Acordar is a regular -ar verb. The pretérito perfeito forms are: eu acordei, tu acordaste, ele acordou, nós acordamos, vós acordastes, eles acordaram. In Brazilian Portuguese, the form with você is acordou (e.g., você acordou), while in many parts of Portugal the tu form acordaste is common.
