acordaste

Acordaste is the second-person singular preterite form of the Spanish verb acordar. It translates roughly as “you agreed,” “you arranged,” or “you decided,” and is used to describe a past action in which an agreement or decision was reached.

In usage, acordaste can accompany a following clause or an infinitive to show what was agreed or decided. Examples include: “Acordaste ir mañana” (You agreed to go tomorrow), “Acordaste con el vendedor un precio” (You agreed on a price with the seller), or “Acordaste que nos reuniríamos a las seis” (You agreed that we would meet at six). It is important to distinguish acordaste from te acordaste, the reflexive form acordarse in the preterite, which means “you remembered.” The verb acordarse is used for memory, whereas acordar (and its preterite acordaste) is used for agreeing, deciding, or arranging something.
