Ylösvetovastuksen
Ylösvetovastuksen, often translated as "pull-up resistor," is a fundamental concept in digital electronics. It is a resistor connected to a voltage source, typically the positive power supply (Vcc), and a digital input pin. Its primary purpose is to ensure that a digital input pin defaults to a defined HIGH logic state when no external signal is actively driving it LOW. Without a pull-up resistor, an unconnected input pin would be considered "floating," meaning its voltage level is indeterminate and susceptible to noise, potentially leading to unpredictable behavior in the digital circuit.
In a typical scenario, a switch or an open-collector/open-drain output is connected between the digital input
The value of the pull-up resistor is chosen to be high enough to minimize power consumption when
