Võrkkustik refers to a type of weaving technique originating from Estonia. This method is characterized by its distinctive mesh-like structure, achieved through a specific interlacing of threads. Unlike traditional plain weave or twill, võrkkustik creates an open, airy fabric with a net-like appearance. The precise construction often involves a combination of warp and weft threads that are not tightly packed, allowing for significant gaps.
