Värmeavlastning, or heat relief, refers to measures and strategies employed to reduce the negative impacts of excessive heat, particularly in urban environments. It is a crucial aspect of urban planning and public health, aiming to mitigate the risks associated with heatwaves and consistently high temperatures.

Urban areas often experience a phenomenon known as the urban heat island effect, where built-up areas are significantly warmer than surrounding rural areas.
