Virtuaalne
Virtuaalne is an Estonian adjective meaning virtual. It describes things that exist in effect, representation, or simulation rather than in physical form. The term is used across technology and everyday language to distinguish between what is tangible and what is produced by software, computation, or online systems. In computing, virtuaalne denotes constructs such as virtual machines, virtual environments, and virtual networks, which allow separate software environments to run on shared hardware. Virtualization is a core technology enabling cloud computing and efficient resource management by abstracting physical hardware into virtual resources. In media and interaction design, virtuaalne often characterizes online spaces and digital experiences that imitate or supplement real-world interactions, for example virtuaalne reaalsus (virtual reality) or virtuaalne keskkond (virtual environment). The word also appears in broader, non-technical contexts to refer to anything that is not physically present but functions or is experienced as if present.
