Vinkelfølere

Vinkelfølere, often translated as angle sensors or angular displacement sensors, are devices designed to measure or detect the angle of an object. They convert angular position into an electrical signal, making them crucial components in a wide range of automated systems and mechanical devices.

There are several types of vinkelfølere, each employing different principles of operation. Potentiometric angle sensors, for example, use a resistive element and a wiper to create a variable voltage output proportional to the angle. Optical angle sensors utilize light and photodiodes, with the angle determining the amount of light reaching the sensor. Magnetic angle sensors often employ Hall effect sensors or magnetoresistive elements to detect changes in magnetic field direction or strength, which correlates to angular position. Inductive angle sensors rely on changes in magnetic coupling between coils as the angle changes.

The applications for vinkelfølere are diverse. They are found in robotics for controlling joint angles, in automotive systems for steering angle sensing and throttle position, and in industrial automation for monitoring the position of rotating machinery. Medical devices, such as imaging equipment, also utilize these sensors for precise positioning.
