Viivoitusvälineet
Viivoitusvälineet, often called drafting tools, are instruments designed to aid precise drawing of geometric shapes and architectural plans. They are an essential part of technical drawing and architectural design, enabling accurate representation of dimensions, angles, and proportions. The core tools include the ruler, also known as a scale or T‑square, the compass for circles and arcs, the protractor for measuring and marking angles, angle dividers, and French curves for creating smooth curved lines. More specialized instruments such as the set square, triangle, and triangle ruler allow for quick layout of right angles. Modern drafting devices may also incorporate a drafting machine or interpolation points for aligning drawing components.
Historically, these tools evolved from hand‑made wooden or metal pieces used by medieval surveyors and cartographers.
