Vermodern is a contemporary art movement that emerged in the early 21st century as a reaction to the perceived stagnation and commercialization of modernist and postmodernist art practices. The term itself is a portmanteau of "ver" (Latin for "true" or "real") and "modern," suggesting a return to authenticity and immediacy in artistic expression. Unlike its predecessors, vermodern art often prioritizes raw, unfiltered experiences, embracing imperfection, spontaneity, and direct engagement with the present moment.
