Vegeta

Vegeta is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball media franchise created by Akira Toriyama. He is introduced as the proud prince of the Saiyan race and a formidable warrior who serves as both rival and occasional ally to the series' main protagonist, Son Goku.

Vegeta is the son of King Vegeta, born on the planet Vegeta. He grows up under orders to conquer and obtain power. His early arc is defined by arrogance and a ruthless pursuit of strength, including a personal vendetta against Goku. Following the destruction of his home world by Frieza, Vegeta vows to surpass Goku and reclaim Saiyan glory, a goal that drives much of his arc in the early parts of the series and beyond.

Throughout the story, Vegeta evolves from a mercenary antagonist to a key member of Earth’s defense. He marries Bulma and has a son, Trunks, and his character often reflects the tension between pride and responsibility. His development includes training under various mentors and attaining several powerful transformations, such as Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Blue. In the Dragon Ball Super manga, he also attains the Ultra Ego form, which emphasizes offense and dominance at the cost of durability.

Vegeta’s abilities include Saiyan physiology, enhanced combat sense, ki manipulation, flight, and energy attacks such as the Final Flash and Big Bang Attack. He remains a central figure in major battles across the franchise and continues to influence events through leadership and strategic combat.
