Vakuumstålforme

Vakuumstålforme, also known as vacuum steel molds, are specialized tools used in manufacturing processes that involve vacuum forming. These molds are typically made from high-quality steel and are designed to withstand the pressures and temperatures associated with vacuum forming. The primary function of a vakuumstålform is to create the desired shape of a plastic product when molten plastic is drawn into or against the mold cavity under vacuum.

The creation of a vakuumstålform involves precise machining and finishing to ensure the mold cavity accurately replicates the final product's geometry. This often includes intricate details, textures, and undercuts, all of which must be meticulously crafted into the steel. The surface finish of the mold is critical, as it directly influences the surface finish of the formed plastic part. In the vacuum forming process, a sheet of plastic is heated until pliable and then draped over or into the vakuumstålform. A vacuum is then applied, pulling the plastic tightly against the mold's surface, forcing it to conform to the mold's shape. Once cooled, the plastic part retains the form of the mold.
