VUluokkaan

VUluokkaan is a small village and former municipality in the fictional nation of Veridia, located on the northern coast of the continent of Nordia. The name is derived from local language elements and is commonly pronounced with the stress on the first syllable.

The village sits on a coastal plain near the Vulo River, with surrounding boreal forests, wetlands, and a cluster of small lakes. It has a temperate boreal climate with cold winters and relatively mild summers.

Historically, the settlement emerged in the 17th century as a forestry community. It existed as an independent municipality from 1860 to 1968, after which it merged with neighboring municipalities to form the Nyla district.

As of 2020, VUluokkaan had about 1,900 residents. The population is predominantly rural, with a mix of farmers, forestry workers, and service staff, and an aging trend in the year-round community.

Its economy centers on forestry, small-scale manufacturing, and local services. Tourism focuses on nature trails, lakes, and the historic mill that operates as a museum and events venue.

Access is by regional roads and bus services; the village has no rail line, and the nearest railhead is in the Nyla regional capital.

Cultural life includes an annual midsummer festival, a small library, and a lakeside viewing platform at Hallen Lake. Notable landmarks include the VUluokkaan Mill Museum, the Old Lighthouse, and several preserved wooden houses.
