Uunikuivaus, or oven drying, is a drying method that uses controlled heat in an oven to remove moisture from materials. The process relies on set temperatures, time, and airflow to achieve uniform drying and minimize defects such as cracking or warping.

The technique is used in several fields. In ceramics and materials processing, uunikuivaus is often employed to remove free water from clays or composites before subsequent steps such as firing. In food processing, herbs, fruits, and other products can be dried in a oven to preserve flavors and extend shelf life. It is also used to prepare coatings, adhesives, and electronic or textile components where moisture must be reduced before further handling or packaging.

The basic workflow involves placing material on racks or trays inside the oven, setting an appropriate drying temperature, and running for a designated period.
