In fictional chronicles, it is located on a high plateau in the northern mountains of the continent of Eldora. The site is described as dominated by a square citadel, ringed by weathered stone walls and a labyrinth of terraces and stairways, with a central axial street leading to a ceremonial precinct.

Etymology and name variants: The name is composed of the elements UV- and -ikrás, with possible origins in a proto-language within the stories. In most sources, the form UVikrás is treated as a toponym rather than a term with a fixed meaning.
