UIhäviöiden
UIhäviöiden, sometimes referred to as UI losses or UI degenerations, are a phenomenon observed in certain user interfaces where the usability and clarity of the interface degrade over time or through repeated exposure. This is not an inherent flaw in the initial design but rather a consequence of how users interact with and adapt to the interface. UIhäviöiden can manifest in several ways. For instance, features that were once easily discoverable may become hidden or forgotten due to changes in layout or navigation. Conversely, frequently used but poorly designed elements can become ingrained habits, leading users to overlook more efficient alternatives. Another aspect involves the accumulation of "dark patterns" or design choices that, while potentially beneficial for the system in the short term, hinder user comprehension or lead to unintended actions over time. The gradual introduction of new features without adequate user training or clear contextualization can also contribute to UIhäviöiden, making the interface feel cluttered and overwhelming. Addressing UIhäviöiden typically involves regular usability testing, user feedback analysis, and iterative design improvements to ensure the interface remains intuitive and efficient for its users.
