Térinformatikai

Térinformatikai is a Hungarian term that translates to geoinformatics or geospatial information science in English. It encompasses the discipline that deals with the acquisition, storage, processing, analysis, management, and visualization of geographically referenced data. This field integrates aspects of computer science, geography, surveying, and cartography to understand and interact with the spatial aspects of our world.

Geoinformatics is fundamentally concerned with data that has a location component, often referred to as spatial data or geospatial data. This data can describe natural phenomena, such as elevation, climate patterns, or land cover, as well as human-made features, like roads, buildings, or administrative boundaries.
