Tyranitar is a dual-type Rock/Dark Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is the final evolution of Pupitar, which evolves from Larvitar. Tyranitar is known for its immense strength and tough, armored body, often depicted as a dinosaur-like creature with a large, spiked head and powerful limbs. Its coloration is typically dark green or gray with a lighter underbelly.

In battle, Tyranitar possesses a formidable stat spread, with high Attack and Defense, making it a potent offensive and defensive Pokémon. It is resistant to a wide array of types, including Psychic, Ghost, Fire, Flying, Poison, and Normal, due to its dual typing. However, it is vulnerable to Fighting, Ground, Bug, Steel, Water, and Ice-type attacks. Its signature ability, Sand Stream, summons a sandstorm upon entering battle, which damages all Pokémon except those of Rock, Ground, and Steel typing and boosts the Special Defense of Rock-type Pokémon.
