Tengdras

Tengdras is a fictional continent frequently used as a setting in fantasy literature and tabletop role-playing games. Across its appearances, Tengdras is described as a land of diverse biomes, from coastal cities and temperate forests to arid plateaus and highland snows. A central mountain range, the Neldrin Spine in many sources, divides the interior from the coast and influences climate and travel. The continent is bordered by fictional seas in some depictions and features numerous rivers that support settlements and trade networks.

The inhabitants are organized into several cultural groups, including maritime traders known as the Tengari, agrarian landholders called the Keldran, and scholarly communities sometimes referred to as the Vashar. Languages and religious practices vary by polity, and many depictions emphasize guilds, temples, or councils rather than a single form of governance. Economies commonly combine mining, timber production, and the trade of crafted or magical goods, with cities often acting as hubs of commerce and culture.

Historically, Tengdras includes a sequence of ages and conflicts, with myths surrounding the founding of major city-states and events such as treaties that restricted magic or warfare. Because Tengdras appears in multiple works, the political borders, rulers, and events differ by source, and there is no universally accepted canonical history. The setting remains popular for world-building due to its flexible geography and diverse cultures, allowing creators to adapt its features to different stories and systems.
