Tachten

This vest can be made from various materials, including wool, linen, or even leather, and may also feature decorative elements. Completing the ensemble is a traditional jacket, the "Joppe," which can vary in style but is typically made of sturdy fabric like wool. Footwear usually consists of sturdy leather boots.

Tachten is part of the broader cultural attire known as Tracht, which encompasses traditional clothing from various German-speaking regions. While historically worn as everyday workwear, tachten has evolved into ceremonial and festive attire, commonly seen during folk festivals, weddings, and other cultural celebrations in Bavaria and surrounding Alpine regions.
