Suojatiet
Suojatiet are pedestrian crossings used on Finnish roads to give priority to pedestrians. They are typically marked by white zebra-like stripes that span the full width of the roadway and connect sidewalks or pedestrian paths on opposite sides. Suojatiet can be located at intersections or, in urban areas, mid-block along busy streets. Some crossings are equipped with traffic signals, pedestrian-activated beacons, or other control devices to manage crossing times.
