Production relies on streaming software such as OBS Studio or Streamlabs OBS, plus hardware like PCs, cameras, and microphones. Streamers often use overlays, scenes, and chat moderation to manage audiences.

Communities form around personalities, games, or genres. Moderation, community guidelines, and burnout awareness are common concerns, as streamers balance content cadence with audience expectations and personal well-being.

Streamers have influenced gaming culture and the broader creator economy, enabling global audiences to engage in real-time. Issues include platform dependency, copyright, harassment, and the sustainability of income at various levels.
