Sovereignat

Sovereignat is a term used in political theory and speculative fiction to refer to the condition or quality of a polity that exercises supreme political authority within its territory and maintains external independence. It is not a formal designation in international law, but a neologism that emphasizes the unity of sovereignty and statehood.

Core elements of Sovereignat include internal sovereignty—the ability to create and enforce laws, administer institutions, and govern without external interference—and external sovereignty—the capacity to conduct foreign relations, enter treaties, and defend borders as a recognized member of the international community. The concept also presumes a stable legal order, territorial integrity, and control over resources and borders.

In practice, the realization of Sovereignat depends on factors such as diplomatic recognition, economic capacity, security autonomy, and compliance with international obligations. Conflicts over sovereignty often arise in secessionist movements, disputes over border demarcations, or cases of external intervention.
