SolidCAM

SolidCAM is a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software package developed by SolidCAM Ltd. It provides toolpath generation, machine simulation, and post-processing to convert CAD models into CNC machine instructions. The program is used to plan, optimize, and verify milling, turning, and multi-axis machining operations for a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, mold and die, and medical devices.

SolidCAM operates as an integrated CAM solution that can be launched within several CAD environments. The best-known integration is as a plug-in for SolidWorks, enabling users to access CAM tools directly in the CAD workspace. SolidCAM also provides interfaces and modules for other CAD platforms, offering a unified workflow from design to NC code.

Key features include iMachining, a technology designed to reduce cycle times and tool wear by optimizing toolpaths based on feature recognition and adaptive strategies.
