SoftClipping
Soft clipping is a type of signal processing distortion that occurs when an audio signal's amplitude exceeds the maximum level a device can handle. Unlike hard clipping, which abruptly cuts off the waveform, soft clipping gradually rounds off the peaks. This rounding results in a smoother, more musical distortion that can add warmth and saturation to a sound.
