Introduces is the third-person singular present tense of the verb introduce. It means to present someone to another person, or to present a concept, product, or policy for consideration. It can also mean to bring someone into a place, group, or situation, or to bring attention to a new idea.

Etymology and grammar: The verb comes from Latin introducere, from in- “in” + ducere “to lead.” Introduce is transitive; in the present simple it forms introduces for he/she/it. With two objects it is ditransitive: “She introduces her friend to the host.” The principal participle forms are introduced (past) and introducing (present participle).

Uses and examples: Common uses include introducing a person to others, introducing a topic in speech or writing, or introducing a new feature or policy.
