These entities are encountered primarily in the dark, underground regions of the Lands Between, such as the Siofra River and Ainsel River. Physically, slitlampullas are depicted as amorphous, gelatinous beings with a single, large eye that emits a faint, phosphorescent glow. Their bodies are somewhat translucent, and they appear to move by oozing or sliding across surfaces.
