Skaens

Skaens are a type of small, often nocturnal, insectivorous mammals native to the forests of Southeast Asia. They belong to the family Soricidae, which includes shrews and moles. Skaens are characterized by their small size, typically ranging from 4 to 7 inches in length, and their distinctive appearance, with a long, slender body, short legs, and a pointed snout. Their fur is typically brown or gray, with a lighter underside.

Skaens are primarily insectivores, feeding on a variety of insects, worms, and other small invertebrates. They are also known to consume small vertebrates, such as frogs and lizards. Skaens are solitary animals, except during the breeding season, when males may form temporary groups. They are active both during the day and at night, but are more active at night.

Skaens are found in a variety of forest habitats, including both primary and secondary forests. They are known to burrow into the soil, creating complex tunnel systems that can be several meters in length. Skaens are an important part of their ecosystem, helping to control insect populations and serving as a food source for larger predators.
