Selvmordstanker is a term used in Danish and Norwegian to describe suicidal thoughts or ideation. In clinical and research contexts, it refers to thoughts about ending one’s life, plans to do so, or a persistent preoccupation with death. Such thoughts can occur in the context of mental health conditions, serious stress, or chronic illness, and they vary in intensity over time.
