USCanada

USCanada is a term used to describe the bilateral relationship between the United States and Canada, two neighboring countries in North America. They share the world's longest bi-national land border, extending about 8,891 kilometers (5,525 miles). The countries also maintain extensive cross-border air and sea connections and operate large, integrated economies with deep trade and investment ties.

Economically, the United States and Canada are among the world's largest trading partners. The United States is Canada's top market for goods and services, while Canada is a significant supplier of energy, minerals, and forestry products. Cross-border supply chains cover manufacturing, automotive, technology, agriculture, and services. The USMCA, in effect since 2020, governs much of their trade relations, replacing NAFTA.

Politically and security-wise, both nations are liberal democracies and allies in NATO, as well as participants in international institutions such as the G7 and OECD. They cooperate on border management and security through joint initiatives, and they administer NORAD, a binational command that oversees aerospace defense and early warning.

Cultural and social ties are deep, with substantial travel, tourism, and family connections across the border. Canada maintains two official languages, English and French, while the United States operates without an official national language. Indigenous peoples and communities have cross-border links and rights that are addressed through bilateral and regional agreements. Environmental cooperation covers shared waterways, wildlife, and climate-related concerns.
