Ruohikot

Ruohikot, often translated as grasslands or meadows, are ecosystems dominated by herbaceous plants, particularly grasses. They are characterized by relatively low rainfall, which is insufficient to support forests but enough to sustain a continuous cover of grasses and other non-woody vegetation. These environments are found across a wide range of climatic conditions, from temperate to tropical regions, and can vary significantly in their species composition and structure.

Globally, grasslands are one of the most widespread biomes. They play a crucial role in supporting diverse wildlife, providing habitat and food for numerous herbivore species such as bison, zebras, and kangaroos, as well as the predators that hunt them.
