Reparierende

Reparierende is a form derived from the verb reparieren (to repair) and is used in German and Dutch to denote the act of repairing or someone or something that performs repairs. As a present participle, it can function as an attributive adjective, describing entities involved in repair work, or as part of a compound phrase.

In German, reparierende can be declined like a standard attributive adjective. It commonly appears as an inflected form such as reparierende Firma (the repairing company), reparierender Techniker (the repairing technician), or das reparierende Werkzeug (the repairing tool). A closely related form, reparierend, is also used as a participle, but reparierende is appropriate when the noun it modifies requires that ending in a given gender and case (for example, die reparierende Firma, der reparierende Techniker, das reparierende Werkzeug). In predicative position, the shorter form reparierend is more typical.

In Dutch, reparerende functions similarly as a present participle meaning "repairing" and is used adjectivally or predicatively. Examples include een reparerende technicus (a repairing technician) or reparerende werkzaamheden (repairing works). As in German, the form is more common in descriptive or technical contexts than in everyday speech.

Semantic scope and usage notes: reparierende is most often found in technical, industrial, or maintenance-related language, where it characterizes personnel, devices, or activities involved in repairs. It does not denote a specific profession by itself; when referring to a person, more common terms or job titles may be used, such as Techniker, Reparateur, or Instandhalter, depending on language and region.
