Ravitaktikat is a tactical concept used in Nordic and European security literature to describe approaches that prioritize speed, flexibility, and surprise to defeat an adversary or resolve a problem quickly. The term is most commonly encountered in Finnish and Swedish-language sources, where it is often translated as rapid tactics or rapid-action tactics.

Core principles of ravitaktikat include maintaining operational tempo, decentralized decision-making, and modular, interchangeable units that can reconfigure rapidly. Realization relies on fast reconnaissance, pre-planned contingencies, and synchronized actions across arms or teams. Deception and the exploitation of information asymmetries are also emphasized to compress the adversary's decision cycle. The approach stresses continuous adaptation and the ability to switch targets or tasks as conditions change.

Applications span offensive raids, rapid breaching of fortified or defended positions, and crisis response in urban or contested environments. The goal is to exploit timing and momentum to overwhelm defenders before their defenses can react, often by combining mobility with concentrated force at critical moments.

Limitations include high training costs, the need for reliable intelligence and communications, and risks of collateral damage or fratricide if coordination fails. Critics warn that rapid tactics can be brittle in complex, multi-domain operations and may require strong leadership, discipline, and sustainable tempo to avoid overreach.
