Polymorfeja

Polymorfeja refers to the phenomenon by which a single entity, whether a biological species, a genetic locus, or a computational construct, exhibits multiple distinct forms or morphs. The term is derived from Greek and is used across several disciplines to describe variation that is systematic rather than random.

In biology, polymorfizmi can be classified as morphological, physiological, or behavioral. It often involves genetic variation within a population, but it can also be environmentally induced in a process known as polyphenism. Classic examples include color morphs in species such as certain butterflies or reptiles, as well as different sexual or seasonal forms within a single species. In computing, polymorfeja describes the ability of a program element (such as a variable or a function) to take on multiple forms depending on context. It is commonly categorized into static (compile-time) polymorphism, such as function overloading, and dynamic (run-time) polymorphism, such as method overriding in inheritance hierarchies. Polymorphism supports flexible interfaces and code reuse across different types.
