PlaceOS

PlaceOS is a software platform that provides a unified control plane for building and venue operations. It enables operators to manage and automate a range of systems—lighting, HVAC, access control, room booking, digital signage, and AV—from a single interface, across spaces such as offices, campuses, hotels, arenas, and retail environments. The aim is to simplify integration of heterogeneous equipment and to support data-driven workflows and improved user experiences.

PlaceOS uses a modular architecture centered on an orchestrator that coordinates devices and services through capabilities, events, and intents. It models entities such as locations, spaces, devices, schedules, and users, and offers APIs and developer tools for creating integrations and applications. Deployments can be on cloud or on premises, with components that can be run in containers and support edge processing for low-latency control.

Key features include device discovery and management, occupancy and presence awareness, room and resource booking, access control integration, digital signage and AV routing, automation rules and schedules, analytics dashboards, and alerting. It emphasizes an ecosystem of connectors and apps that enable rapid integration with third-party systems and hardware.
