Plaatmodellen

Plaatmodellen, often translated as plate models or thin plate elements, are a computational technique used in structural analysis. They are employed to model the behavior of flat, relatively thin structures that are subjected to loads. These structures can include components like car body panels, aircraft wings, or building floors. The core concept of a plaatmodel is to represent a three-dimensional object as a two-dimensional surface, assuming its thickness is significantly smaller than its other dimensions. This simplification allows for a reduction in computational complexity compared to a full 3D analysis.
