Peruspolymeeri, or base polymer, is a fundamental concept in polymer science referring to the principal polymer chain that forms the core of a material. It is the polymer species on which functional groups attachment, copolymerization, or blending is based. The base polymer determines the primary mechanical, thermal, and processing characteristics of the material, while modifications tailor specific properties for applications.
