This includes physical cards designed to resemble credit or debit cards but used for non-financial purposes, as well as virtual or tokenized credentials presented in mobile wallets and online payment interfaces. Typically, paymentcardlike items carry or simulate card data such as a card number, expiration date, and cardholder name, or at least present the appearance of these elements to facilitate user recognition and compatibility with card-based systems.

Forms and use cases: Physical card-like objects include replacement or companion cards used for access control, campus IDs, loyalty programs, or identification badges that exploit familiar card aesthetics. Digital variations include virtual card numbers, tokenized credentials, and card-like interfaces within mobile wallets that enable payments or authentication without exposing actual card data.

Security and privacy: Because paymentcardlike representations rely on card-processing ecosystems, they are subject to PCI DSS and related security controls when real payment data is present.
