Pantels
A pantel is a type of fishing net used primarily for catching small fish and shrimp. It is characterized by its funnel-shaped construction, often made from netting stretched over a rigid frame. The opening of the funnel is wider, allowing fish to swim in, while the tapered end narrows to a closed bag where the catch is retained. This design makes it effective for passive fishing, where the pantel is anchored or trailed in the water and fish swim into it.
Pantels are commonly deployed in shallow waters, estuaries, and near shorelines. They can be used individually
