PLUSsertifisering

PLUSsertifisering is a certification process used to attest that a product, service, or organization complies with the PLUS standard. The term is most commonly found in Norwegian-speaking regions and is applied across several sectors, including industry, services, and agriculture. The standard underlying PLUSsertifisering defines a set of requirements intended to improve quality, safety, environmental responsibility, and stakeholder transparency.

The scope of PLUSsertifisering can vary by sector and by whether the certification covers a management system, a specific product, or a service. Management system certifications assess an organization’s processes and governance, while product or service certifications evaluate conformity of outputs with predetermined criteria. The requirements typically address planning and risk management, process controls, performance measurement, documentation, and ongoing improvement.

The certification process generally includes an application, a documentation review, and one or more audits conducted by an accredited certification body. If compliance is demonstrated, a certificate is issued and the entity may be authorized to use a PLUS mark for a defined period. Most programs include periodic surveillance or renewal audits to maintain certification, with the certificate typically valid for a set interval (for example, two to three years), subject to ongoing compliance.
